Heisman Watch:

1. C.J. Stroud

2. Bijan Robinson

3. Bryce Young

4. Grayson McCall

5. TreVeyon Henderson

6. Matt Corral

7. Desmond Ridder

— After 7 weeks, I think C.J. Stroud and Bijan Robinson are out in front in the Heisman Race. Bryce Young is a close third and he can get right back in the race if he plays great again.

— Grayson McCall deserves a mention here for how well he has played this year. He has that Coastal Carolina offense working in full force, they are so efficient and very hard to stop. They are an option team at heart, but McCall can certainly sling it. Isaiah Likely is amazing, just feed him and watch him take it to the house.

TEAM ANALYSIS:

— The Georgia defense is a sight to behold. They are probably the best college defense I have seen in my life. They make it hell for opposing QB’s. The Georgia offense is good enough to roll through these regular season games, but will it be able to put up enough points when they play a high-powered offense like OSU, Oklahoma or Bama? Only time will tell. They have the dawgs to beat anyone and have the most impressive wins of anyone in the country.

— I was not high at all on Iowa going into this week, that offense was atrocious and it let them down yet again. I am glad that Purdue was able to expose them, David Bell went for 240 yards. Will they even make it to Indy? They should be able to with that weak division but it’s not a foregone conclusion like it was a few weeks ago.

— Texas is clearly a first half team. I would say I’m surprised but I am not. Casey Thompson played poorly again, which makes me sad. This team should be way better than they are with that offense. The defense is disgusting to watch. They are looking at another 4+ loss season if they don’t get it together.

— I am not impressed with Michigan State at all. The offense doesn’t move me even with how good Walker has been. They are barely a top 20 team. I expect Michigan to blow them out.

— That Cincinnati defense is scary good. They are a top 5 team, but I just doubt they would beat OSU, Oklahoma, Georgia or Bama. But, if there was a year for it, it would be this season. Desmond Ridder is playing his best ball and Luke Fickell will probably win Coach of the Year for what he’s doing. With that schedule, they should make the CFP

— Kentucky and Will Levis did move me despite the loss. Levis was letting it fly, they just ran into a better team. They are a top 15 team, easily.

— Oklahoma is back to normal. Caleb Williams is special, the throws he was making were leaving me in awe. I think they are the 3rd best team with him at the helm and could beat anyone with it being a “down year.” Their offense looks potent again. That Alex Grinch defense is a different story and that will probably be their downfall.
